My name is Ricardo and along with several other former-executives from the corporate world, we've created a solution to answer what we always felt was missing when we were leading big teams and managing large businesses:
a trusted and safe space to fight the "loneliness of the leader".
In my many years as a C-level executive in big multinational companies, I always felt that I needed a place or a space where I could express freely my doubts, my thoughts and ideas, where I could elaborate and relieve the pressure, without having the fear of being judged. A place or a space where at the same time allowed to get some “feed-forward” that could help me going further on my scenarios.
This feeling kept on growing as I was getting more responsibilities. And neither my bosses or my N-1 were the perfect solution as sometimes the questions were some how impacting them. Nor my colleagues or peers as there was sometimes some conflict of interests. Punctually I was getting that from some people from other countries but it was not in a sustainable way.
So I guess that were the moments where I could relate to the famous “loneliness at the top”. It was more about missing a sounding box that could also challenge me but in a business and managerial way (not at all what you could get from a coach). Do you recognize this feeling ?
Another point was about the possibility of expanding the capabilities of our teams to embrace new projects and incorporating “out of box” approaches while we needed at same time to ensure the day-to-day business , delivering the budget , managing people and so on. Of course task forces were created, special transversal teams were put in place, even some outside consultants. But I’ve always felt that a special approach on main transformational projects was needed- incorporating the freshness of an outside view and the benchmarking of best in class practices. And doing this while ensuring the everyday full menu of activities. And to be honest my experience with classical “no hands on & theoretical” consultants was not at all the solution. Do you relate with this?
